Money Manifestation, A Real Practice or a Farce?

You may have heard the expression of manifesting money. A lot of money mindset coaches speak to manifestation and how to manifest money in your life. This piques my interest, and if you are anything like me, you just don’t get it.

When I was younger, I was a lot more woo than I am today, however I still hold on to a lot of woo. I just feel like I’m more pragmatic now that I’m older. I recognize the woo in me, but I also don’t rely on it to carry my business.

I believe in the law of attraction and being open to receiving, but I also know that when you receive money you need to know how to manage it. No amount of woo will teach money management. You need to invest the time in learning how to do that.

Money mindset does play a critical role to how you show up in your business, so let’s explore this topic. Today I want to break down what that means for both you and me to understand.

Define manifestation

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines manifest as 1: readily perceived by the senses and especially by the sense of sight

2: easily understood or recognized by the mind : OBVIOUS

Looking at this definition, I’m not getting much from it.

So I searched further and found this explanation by Dr Carla Manly who states that manifestation is “the act or process of taking something hoped for and bringing it to life. In other words, manifestation is the art of bring a dream or goal into a state of being real.”

To me, that resonates much better.

What does it mean to manifest money?

Many people dream of a wealthy life or want for more money, and often I hear or read money coaches talking about needing to manifest this money. But what does it mean to manifest money?

Marla McKenna, author of Manifesting Your Dreams says, “The trick for manifesting money is looking at the abundance you already have and expressing gratitude for it. So even if you’re struggling to pay bills, raise your vibration and block any limiting beliefs by welcoming the money and prosperity that is on the way. In short, focus on what you have, not what you don’t have.”

Ok, I believe that people have money mindset blocks when it comes to making money, and more importantly, managing money.

How to manifest money

The most important question of all to some people is “how do I manifest money?” I know this is an answer that I am looking for. Because manifestation is an abstract concept, it may take a lot of belief in the process to manifest something.

When you intuitively know that you will have something that can be manifesting. If that’s what manifestation is, then I’ve intuitively manifested many opportunities, but a lot of opportunities came to me because of my hard work.

Jack Canfield says that financial success starts in the mind, and this is what I refer to as money mindset. Everyone has a money story that contributes to the relationship we form with money. When we have a negative relationship with money that can form a money mindset block. It is these money mindset blocks that need to be worked through in order to manifest the desired outcome of wealth and money.

Money manifestation techniques

The law of attraction has always stated that if we focus on something that we want and we visualize it and see how it will appear in our lives, that it will happen. You need to make the space for it in your life to show up.

When you get clear on your intention of wanting money and how you will use it, that will help make space for that money. It is important NOT to focus on what you don’t have, but be grateful for what you do currently have, and how having more money will enhance your life.

Steps in manifesting money:

1. Get clear on your goals

List the reasons why you want money. Don’t be vague and say I want money in my life. Get clear intentions, such as “I want $50,000 to start my business.”

2. Explore your money mindset

Do you have stories that are holding you back in life? Are you living in scarcity instead of abundance? You need to clear your mind of any money blocks so that you can create space for a new life.

3. Practice gratitude

Have you ever noticed that happy people seem to attract the best of life? The key ingredient of happy people is that they practice gratitude. They don’t focus on what they lack or don’t have, they are grateful for what they have been given in life.

4. Create a vision board

Vision boards are a great way to help you stayed focus on your goals. A vision board creates inspiration to keep you working towards your goals.

5. Learn about money

Make money and money management a daily part of your life. Look for ways where you can create opportunities and earn money. Money manifestation does not mean that you will win a lottery or money will fall from the sky, it means that you are allowing the universe to find a way to get that money to you.

6. Believe that you deserve wealth

Back to money mindset where you need to believe you are worthy to receive something. Keeping wealth is something that you have to work at and you need to build money management skills in order to do that. You need to invest the time it takes to learn how to be wealthy so that when you receive it, you respect it.

7. Keep your eye on the prize

When manifesting money there is no timeline. The universe provides when you are ready to receive, so keep your eye on the prize and don’t give up.

The bottom line to manifesting money is done not only through visualization and belief exercises, but through action as well. Rich people don’t just wish for it and it lands in their lap. You need to set yourself up for success. This is why lottery winners commonly lose all their winnings, because they were not prepared to be wealthy.

So, remember, your part in money manifestation is not just wishing for it to happen. You need to create space for it in your life. You need to feel worthy of acceptance and know how to manage that money and maintain your wealth when you receive it.
