Chances are, if you own a business online, then you've heard of Amy Porterfield. Amy Porterfield is a digital marketing expert and an online powerhouse. Over the past few years, Amy has made a name for herself by teaching small businesses how to use digital marketing to grow their businesses. Amy Porterfield shares her blueprint for Americans hoping to quit their job and create financial and creative freedom by building the life they want. Amy is the author of the highly anticipated forthcoming book, Two Weeks Notice: Find the Courage to Quit Your Job, Make More Money, Work Where You Want, and Change the World (Hay House, February 2023), which provides a step-by-step blueprint for future entrepreneurs eager to create their financial freedom, creative freedom, and lifestyle freedom by building an online business that allows them to call the shots.

Since launching her online business in 2010, Amy has generated more than $57M in revenue, but her path to success wasn't easy. When writing Two Weeks Notice, her goal was to provide readers with the roadmap she didn't have when she was ready to start her own business.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Amy for my She Means Profit™ podcast and YouTube channel, and I’d love to share this fantastic interview with you here.

Amy Porterfield and I discussed how hard starting a new business online is. Despite its challenges, it is also the most rewarding. We talked about how important it is to be prepared for the sacrifice and hustle required in the beginning stages and how gratifying it is to see your business grow and thrive. Amy shared her story of how she overcame difficulties in starting her business and offered advice to other entrepreneurs just starting. We also discussed some common mistakes that new companies make and how to avoid them. Overall, it was a great conversation about the ups and downs of starting a new business. I left feeling inspired and motivated to continue working on my business goals.

In my conversation with social media expert Amy Porterfield, she drove home the importance of three key factors for success in any field, but especially in the online arena:

1. It's essential to have a strong network

Connections are essential for finding mentors, collaborators, and customers. Everyone knows that having a good network of professional contacts is critical. But what many people don't realize is that connections are just as crucial for finding mentors, collaborators, and customers. A strong network of relationships allows you to tap into a wealth of knowledge and experience. You can find mentors who can guide you in your career, collaborators who can help you with projects, and customers who can provide valuable feedback. In today's highly connected world, there's no excuse for not making the most of your professional network. So get out there and start building those meaningful connections!

2. An active social media presence is necessary to reach potential fans and followers

With the rise of social media, it's more important than ever for businesses to have an active presence online. Not only does this help you reach potential customers and followers, but it also allows you to connect with your audience on a more personal level. In today's digital age, people are increasingly looking to social media for news, recommendations, and customer service. Having an active social media presence ensures that you're always at the forefront of your audience's mind.

There are several ways to ensure your social media presence is vital. First, make sure that you're regularly posting fresh content that is relevant to your brand. In addition, be sure to interact with your followers regularly - this could mean responding to comments, liking and sharing posts, or even just sending a quick message. Finally, don't forget to mix things up from time to time - try running a contest or giving away a prize to keep things interesting. By following these simple tips, you can ensure that your social media presence is solid and engaging.

3. Regardless of how you measure success, it won't come without hard work.

This is true whether you're trying to start a business, get ahead in your career, or simply improve your fitness. There are no shortcuts to success. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to sell you something or doesn't understand what it takes to achieve lasting success. The good news is that hard work pays off. It might not be easy, but it's worth it. So if you're ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work, remember that success is within your reach. All it takes is dedication, determination, and a willingness to put in the effort. Whether you're just starting out or you're already established, these three things are critical for continuing to grow and achieve your goals.

The bottom line is that anyone who has ever started their own business knows that it is not for the faint of heart. It takes much hard work, dedication, and long hours. There are also a lot of tough decisions that need to be made along the way. And, of course, there are bound to be a few tears shed along the way. But, for many people, the rewards of being an entrepreneur are well worth the challenges. After all, there is nothing quite like the feeling of being your boss and watching your business grow. So, if you are thinking about starting your own business, know it will be much work. But it could also be the most rewarding experience of your life.

To take your business to the next level, you need to check out Amy Porterfield's website and podcast. Trust me; you won't be disappointed.
